... sounded like an alarm of impending doom to warn us that it's only a matter of time until we all burn.

I think it's just telling everyone to be real. Saying you love someone doesn't mean anything. Showing that through actions and deeds is what matters. I don't say "I love you" very easily, but I hope I show it consistently. You do. :-)
